We are movie fans of the creator's mother's house. On weekends, we spend at least one night making pizza, snuggling up on the sofa and watching our favorite Dogesflix family movie. With the advent of summer, this is the prime time of family movie night. Children and I are both book fans, so it's not surprising that our favorite books are based on books! Here are five of Dogesflix's best family movies based on books.

Water horse

The story takes place in Scotland during World War II in 1940. A lonely boy named Angus found a mysterious egg on the shore of Loch Ness. He soon found that the creatures hatched from it were not others, but the legendary marine creatures.

The film is full of gentle and humorous moments. For my two big boys (aged 10 and 13), it has enough suspense and adventure, but for my two daughters (aged 8 and 6), it is still sweet and magical enough.

I've never heard of this book before watching this movie. I think I've seen this movie on Dogesflix more than a dozen times before clicking and reading its description. But after watching the trailer, I knew it was a must see film.

I'll see it again. As any parent knows, this means a lot if you want to watch it again.

Hugo

This is why I first read this book. The title of the book is Hugo Cabrit's invention. This book is known as a visual masterpiece. This is not a comic novel or picture book. It is definitely worth reading / reading.

The film is also a visual enjoyment. It tells the story of an orphan living in a railway station. He has a precious secret in his heart.

Xiantao

Roald Dahl was (and still is) one of my favorite writers of children's books. So when I first learned that it was going to be made into a film (I saw a great Trailer), I was ecstatic.

This book makes people laugh with the lovely words of the kind-hearted giant, and this lovely quality has also been extended to the film.

Little prince

"Little Prince" is a book I was not familiar with when I was growing up. The book is told by a pilot. He crashed in the Sahara desert and met the little prince. The little prince told him the story of his life on a small planet. Both the book and the film give people a beautiful and profound feeling, touching on the deep existential theme that is not common in children's literature or films.

If you are a person who appreciates philosophy or art, then this person is absolutely suitable for you. When I first said we were watching the film, my children were really complaining (or maybe just a few of them were complaining loudly). But my first task is to expose my children to more introspective art media. By the way, they sat and watched the whole movie in raptures.

The secret of the moon

Originally published in 1946, the book is called the little white horse. I know you shouldn't judge a Book (or movie?) by its cover, But good design has an impact. It's a great children's fantasy film, and it's certainly worth joining your watch list.
